Only crank when gas is poured in carburetor.

Engin model 204412 which is on a 5500 generator will only attempt to start when gas is poured in the the carburetor. I have cleaned the carb several times and still no luck.

Full disassembly cleaning? Wire the orifices? Needle and float work properly?

How often is the genny ran? Most just sit around all day in the blazing heat varnishing up the fuel.

How did you clean the carb?

Spray some carb cleaner on the outside only?

Put it in the wife's dishwasher or ultrasonic cleaner?

Use any round carbide files on those brass jets?

Thanks y’all figured it out the push rod was not on the intake valve
