I picked up a small tiller that has an old Briggs Mod# 80102 2.5 HP motor on it. The tank mounts directly to the underside of the carb and there is a plastic tube that I believe is the fuel pick up. It's cracked about half an inch below the surface of the carb which allows air into the carb and causes it to run bad. How do you remove that fuel tube to replace it?
Thanks

It is a press fit and should pull out. Put the fuel pickup in a vise with the carb about half an inch above the jaws and ply upward on the carb and it should come out. If the pickup has a hex shape at the bottom it may also unscrew.

Thanks ILENGINE for the reply.
Yes the pick does have a hex at the bottom. I tried to turn it with my fingers but it looked like it was going to snap off so I didn't try any more. I've ordered a new one from the local parts store.
Besides being cracked, the tube has a fuzzy ball of something inside it which I believe is also contributing to the engine running bad.
Thanks again.
