OHV leaking

I have a Scott push mower which has a Briggs & Stratton 6.5 HP engine, model # 121602-0121-E1. Oil is leaking out of OHV to the deck. I took the OHV apart and found about 1/8 to 1/4 oz of oil in it. Is the amount of oil normal? If it's normal, then, I guess it's the head gasket that's leaking. If not normal, what gasket is leaking?

Unless the engine is running poorly, it’s probably the valve cover gasket leaking. Part #691890. That amount of oil in the valve cover is normal.

I assume you mean the rocker cover is leaking. You to replace the gasket.

And yes it normal to have some oil in the rocker cover that how parts in there gets lubed.

Normally from over torqued screws.

Agree, normal oil and replace the gasket.

Thanks for the replies.

Anyone knows how much torque to apply to the screws?
