I have a 1984 Murray 18/46 garden tractor. I was having belt issues,as well as a bad solenoid. After replacing belt, I had ordered a new sol. I had removed several days earlier, and when I reinstalled,Mistakenly connected the 2 green wires to the starter wire. I didn't get a crank, so I shorted the sol poster. While cranking,I heard a " pop". Later,I discovered my error and corrected the wiring. Now I have nothing, and if I bypass the sol, I have no spark . My manual is incorrect for the mower, shows a lot of things incorrect, including wire colors. Any ideas??

The "pop" was your magneto coil blowing up, or rather the timing chip in it blowing up
It is now deceased and you will have to buy a new one
Mark the wires so you do not mix them up again
