A trick that a landscaper showed me years ago was to dunk the cutter head with line in water to keep the line cool and it actually improves line feeding and line cutting strength. Nylon cutter line gets resilient when kept wet.

Even old cutting line can be rejuvenated by soaking it in water overnight. I've done that when all I had on hand was some line that had sit for a couple of years. It worked.
I agree with this advice. I regularly soak my spools in water to make them work better. But I defy you to make a difference in the Speed Feed 500. It welds line less than .130 diameter. It is a total piece of crap.

I cannot comment on this particular item. Just the same though, I don't think adding more string for lazy people resolves anything.

Just gives more time for beer.:rolleyes:

or just bragging rights. But I think this head is so a larger diameter line can be used. Anyway it is an extra load on the engines.
