Hello. Bought an old Cub 104 last summer. It mowed well, but was pretty tired and offered something different than motorcycles to restore. It won't be 100% original, but pretty close. It's just about to start coming back together now.

You beat me too it, I was just uploading them... threads are worthless without pictures:smile:
Here's what $400 buck got me --- bad muffler & even worse rings.. The 44" deck is pretty nice & cut beautifully though.

Instead of rebuilding the 10hp, I bought a 12hp that had been rebuilt with 5hrs on it.. It only needed painted.

Here's where I am now.. Unfortunately, it's too cold to finish spraying paint today

Little bit of work done over the weekend... rebuilt clutch, steering linkage & worm gear, rebuilt the wiring harness & got the engine back in.

I just brought a model 104 from Penn. to Florida, I was told it run when they put it up 15 years ago and had just put a new 12 horse engine on it instead of the 10 horse. I had to wait until the storm was out of here before I could do anything with it. After the rain stopped I flushed the tank changed the oil, and put a new battery in it and turned the starterpulled the choke and it started up and run perfect. I am thinking about getting rid of my new Craftsman or, keeping both. The only problem at all is the steering is a little loose, but that looks like the tie rod has a little play. This is a tractor I have always wanted to own.
Congradulations on your find. I do think I might try to restore mine or at least a new paint job.
