New gang reel mower.....advice?

hi guys,

first post. i've just installed a 5 acre atheletic field where my wife is the principal in San Antonio. I'm looking to purchase a pull behind gang reel mower. The promow 5 gang commercial gold is what i'm considering. The grass is BlackJack Bermuda. I'm planning on mowing it twice a week somewhere between 1" to 1.5" cut height.

I'm hoping there is a wealth of opinion here? Fire away..........thanks.

I've heard that reel mowers don't cut so well. I would suggest a big ztr mower.

A reel mower will cut that just fine it is a thin blade grass. It will not cut weeds or fescue good as they are thick blade grass

I have a large commercial Toro gang set...
You will find that a gang reel set is the perfect mower for an athletic field... Get the heaviest set you can locate, Using it will roll out the slight variations your field may have... over time it will be perfectly level...

1 to 1 1/2 inch is the best setting wit reel mowers. You are going to love a gang set... :smile:KennyV
