New Fuel Solenoid Cutoff Valve

I recently installed a new fuel cutoff solenoid valve on my mower and had to order the new plug connection for the wires going to the solenoid because it all melted when it went bad. They sent me the wrong connection. So, the new valve is installed and I have two wires that I need to connect to what look like 2 fork prongs. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to connect them without having to wait another week for a new connection? Do you think solder would hold?
