Well, the title sums it up. I have the mower in the shop and the guy says parts are back-ordered from the factory. Been a week or so. Probably will never come in I guess.
Tried to find something on the 'net before coming here. No luck. Any ideas? Thanks.
 
Both Partstree and my Husqvarna distributor show both the cable and the rear drive unit in stock. Hope you are sitting down and really think about if it is worth fixing. Maybe able to purchase a new mower or a good down payment on a new push mower. Rear drive unit is $159 and the cable is another $99 MSRP.

Who is your Husqvarna distributor?
I contacted Partstree and received a response that doesn't make a lot of sense:

"Dear Todd,
Unfortunately, the drive control unit with cable is available under part number 589813201. It is priced at $113.99 (plus shipping and tax) and we currently have 13 in-stock.

We thank you for your business and hope that you will visit us in the future for all your lawn and garden equipment parts and accessories needs."
 
I am puzzled too because when I put the info in, I get a completely different transmission number and the image shows front wheel drive and not rear wheel drive. put that transmission number in and the part says all wheel drive rear. So I have no idea. Might be something one is going to have to match. Prices online are showing between about $50 good used to $200 which makes no sense. The average being around $120. Might need a serial number to figure out exactly what is needed and/or match the old one. In general, the drives outlast the mowers so maybe something else is going on here.

I have read elsewhere the Husqvarna parts numbers are almost useless. The vary from site to site and even within Husqvarna's database as well.
This alone will prevent me ever buying one of their products again.
