Hi Guys, I have an echo srm 225 weed wacker that I'm having a little problem with. It was kind of loosing power. So here's what I did:
I took the carburetor apart and cleaned with carb.cleaner, I replaced fuel filter, air filter and spark plug, I also cleaned the muffler for carbon build up.
Now the trimmer, takes to long to start, and when it does, it doesn't hold idle and dies out right after.

Any suggestions, Please help.

Sounds like you still have an air leak in the priming circuit or a plugged fuel passage way in the carb. I would check the price of a new carb. I have found that some cost as little as $25, which is cheaper than rebuilding with a kit and time involved. If you didn't replace the diaphragm that could also be the problem. Compare $$$ and then decide how to proceed.

I think you were right Rivets, I install a rebuild kit in it, and still doesn't work, I took the air filter off and spray some starter fluid in it and bang!! It started right up then dies. Does it sound like it needs a new carb?

No so fast yet. When you prime it does the bulb fill with gas? Are you sure that you installed the pump diaphragm and gasket in the right order? Did you spray every passageway and hole with carb cleaner to make sure they are clean? If the answer to any question is no start over. As long as you have the rebuild kit it is worth trying again to get it to work. Also check the fuel lines, they may be cracked in the tank where you can't see it and that will cause a problem. Before buying a new carb please go back and check everything.
