No I don't think its the head gasket. It's the compression release mech. on the camshaft. Not hard to fix. Their cheap online. And Youtube is your best friend.I have an old Murray mower that I am repairing. It has the 14.5 hp single cylinder over head valve engine. It is very hard for the starter to turn the motor over unless the battery is fully charged. It blows a little bit of oil up the dipstick. It has a lot of compression, but it does not smoke. Do you guys think this is a head gasket failure?
Yeah, a long way off, the 327 has a 4” bore, that B&S is a little over 3 ….. hmmm like StarTech said, 40 ci vs 28 ci ….Hmmm if you are dividing 327 by 8 that is still a 40.8 Cu In and we are talking about 28 Cu In.
Good man. Unless you fully disclose the condition of the mower.as I do not want to sell a mower with a blown head gasket.
