G goofy173 Forum Newbie May 10, 2013 #1 My Murray model 38608x12c had bad steering gears and I replaced the whole thing with new. I can't figure out how the spring goes back into the new mechanism. That spring pushes the "Blade Engage" lever against the safety switch.
