MTD crank shaft bolt details

Hello Does any one know the details of the bolt that holds the drive and deck pullies to the crank shaft the engine is a briggs & stratton 11.5 hp I have tried B & S but they do not know? any help would be appreciated

Most likely 7/16x20 with a 5/8 hex. MTD would supply the original bolt not briggs. So the MTD model numbe would give more information as far as length used.

Many thanks for your reply I have had no luck in identifying the MTD model number all I know is its probably a 400 series and I got that from a French company
 
If post the engine's model, type, and datecode at we might be able find out what the crankshaft is threaded at. From you have to try assorted bolt lengths and use the longest one that gets everything tight.

7/16"-20 x 2" Grade 5.

As for the engine the French site does not have that info.
 
Many thanks for your reply I have spent hours trying to get that information now I just need to find a bolt supplier, all of the parts suppliers ask for the part number.

Oh was that what you needed

Depending on where you are a generic bolt supplier should this partial threaded bolt. As some are more attuned to Metric instead SAE. Here it is the way around as finding metrics is nearly impossible at times. That is why I ordered nearly every one of them when needed.
