Model number needed for MTD Yard Machine 20hp/46" LT with briggs and stratton 461707 0143 e1

Hi forum,

I came across a used yard machines 20hp LT with 46" 3 blade deck, that needs a PTO belt. Unfortunately, the model number has fallen off of the seat. Can anyone assist?

Do you know what year the tractor is? I found this number for a yard machine 3 blade 46", 2007, MTD 954-034
Sometimes MTD will also put a tag under the hood with part numbers.
 
No clue. There is nothing under the hood, either. The tractor looks very similar to MTD 13AQ609G022, but I'm not sure. I'm going to take the belt to a local lawn mower shop and hope they can match it, but I will eventually need a model number when the next item breaks.

Thanks, but my model doesn't have that big stick on the right side of the tractor. I think it's an 00 model. I entered the model of my old MTD 13AQ609G022 - which the website says is an 00 model. My model is laid out the same - in terms of the location of the brake, throttle and choke.

The mowers are all built on a common chassis .
Your deck should be the H deck which is why Ilengine only listed H models .
After that it is electric or manual ( big lever one the side ) PTO
And what ever tranny you have
Have a look on the tranny for a sticker with a number
Pop the model number into Jacks Small Engines then pick the tranny and hit the more info button
That brings up a new window which will also list all of the models that tranny was fitted to
Some times you can do the same with the engine
Then the pto clutch

Any listed model that is in all 3 lists will have the same parts as your mower apart from body pannels paint colours & decals.

I took your advice and entered it into Jack's website. It gave me one hit for a 20HP 46" deck - but was listed as Troy-Bilt.

Troy Bilt 13CU609H063 20HP Lawn Tractor (2002) LT-2046 (2002)

I entered that into the MTD website, and found a manual that has four additional models:

Pedal Drive Lawn Tractor
Models D609G
G609G
U609H
X609G

The chassis of the mower pictured on the manual looks the same, but the hood and light looks different - but they all reference the same part # for the belt. So I'm well on my way.
