I got some gator mulching blades on it now and finding even sharp I have to slow to get it to not leave a bunch of stragglers on it and it’s become annoying. It’s got the Kohler on it and I actually did a little work for more power on this thing and it’s a beast now zero bogging if need to cut really thick grass. Holds 3400-3500 rpm unless grass is really tall even at full speed. So really need to find a blade that can keep up and I guess it might be suction issue? These might be gator g6 which I had read worked good on most mowers so why I came here to ask guys using specific badboy deck mowers. I’m about the sharpen the stock blades and throw them back on it see if does better. Seeing some guys even stack blades on a + patten. I’m even up for buying the mulching attachment if told it works much better than trying to discharge it. Thanks for any advice here

They look really similar to the blades that come with the mower. I got mine in 2021 put the gators on it after some saying they mulch better. But no matter how sharp I keep them they tend to leave stragglers and really don’t throw the grass great. So for now sharpened the factory and threw them back on to mow today with lots of rain on the way here in Tennessee. I did order those blades I had read something on copperhead then saw same brand. I had even thought about changing the pulley increase the blade speed if couldn’t find a blade combo to let me mow at full speed and not look like a mess. Neighbor has a scag and mows so slow to get a good cut makes no sense to me as these are mostly commercial mowers. For 5800 in 2021 I can’t complain though as a buddy paid 13k for his scag which I thought was way over paying for a mower to cut his 4 acres. I do my 5 with just about 1/2 of tank and he says takes him a full tank to do his 4 so over all this mower has been really good so far in my eyes.

If they can just slightly out perform the factory blade that will be great. I got sucked into that gator debate of how they are the best mulching blades why ran them. But now back on the factory high lift I believe that was again sharp it was night and day on the way the grass looked vrs the gators. I’ll have the new ones for next mowing day so look forward to seeing how well they do work.

The Rotary blades are cheaper than the factory blades and they will cut just as well or better. They sharpen up nicely too.
Gators are okay late in the season and the first and second mowing. When the grass has fully greened up and filled in, the high lifts work best.
