I followed the directions in the users manual to remove the mower deck from my Cub Cadet LT1042 in order to remove and sharpen the mower blades. All went well (except trying to get the blades off), however there was one extra step that was not documented. There was a cable that ran to the rear of the mower that had a cable with a spring attached to the deck that had to be removed.
I put the deck back on the mower, attached the cable to the deck but have no idea where the spring goes. It seems to run well with it unattached. Can anyone help?
