Loose valve cup

Cub cadet Serl # 4706730603 kohlor 18 hp twin cam courage motor. Wan.t start do to a loose valve. Tried to tighten the nut that adjust the valve, but the nut will bottom out before the cap gets to where it is suppose to be. Real louse cap. acts like the stud is to long.
Pleasr help me with another problem
 
Remove the rocker and compare that stud to the other one. It's either turned out or if pressed into the head it has got longer.
Compare it to the other one.
 
Take pictures of what you are trying to say.

Sounds like a valve guide has moved maybe? Over heated the engine?

Engine on the wrong stroke to set the valves?

Need pictures please.

I will take some pictures as soon as I can . Push rod is still loose in the head when no pressure is on the rod. It appears the valve worked loose . Valve spring still compressers, when motor rotates by hand

I closed my eyes and tried to see it from here but my special Kent powers have failed me again in my old age. Need good photos.
