I have a scag mower that is having a problem keeping the battery charged. The battery is new, the alternator is new and the voltage reg is new. Checked the output of the alternator and is between 13.8 and 14 volts. If the mower sits for a few days the battery stays charged. It seems to loose charge when the blades are engaged. Showed no draw on the battery when the mower is off. The year is 2006. Model # is STC48V-26BS, the motor model is 44P777 Type 0115 E1. Thanks in advance for any help.

Find the electrical connector for the clutch, it is just forward of the center of the engine and passes down thru a hole in the engine deck. Disconnect this connector, it has a tab lock on it, slip a small flat tip screwdriver under the lock tab and leave it there as you disconnect this connector to hold the tab out of the way. With an ohmmeter, check the resistance between each terminal. Should not be lower than 2.2 Ohms but possibly as high as 2.8 Ohms. Also check from each terminal to ground, should be infinity or open circuit.
Also read my post (#20) in the thread "Battery issue-03 Tiger Cub-23 HP Kawasaki.
I have this identical machine other than it now has a new 30 HP Briggs commercial Turf engine.
