Leaking needle seat in B&S carb

I thought that I could rule out leaking around the seat by applying a fuel-resistant gasket sealant on the outer circumference of the seat. Admittedly there still could be some leakage that gets sealed when I apply the tiny pressure to the float. Unfortunately when the needle is in place I would not be able to see where any bubbles were coming from if I dripped some liquid down the hole.

Yes, I'm wetting the needle and seat with a bit of gasoline.
Needle must be wet as to simulate real world usage. Spray some say PB Blaster on it and retest YOUR method.
Best method I now use instead of the pressure and gauge setup is run a clear hose say 1 to 2 feet higher than the carb. Squirt Diesel into the hose. Fill carb bowl up and hose at a high level. Mark the line with a marker. Watch the line after 30 minutes for leaks. Do this carb upright as normal. Again simulates real world usage. Don't have to remove the carb off the engine if you don't want to.

The needle and seat kit you are using contains a new needle, why aren’t you installing the new needle? Are you installing the seat with the ridges toward the carb body? I’ve found that it is better to test for leaks with the carb in the operating position, with fuel applying pressure on the needle, instead of air, as Slomo suggested.

I did not purchase the OEM seat/needle kit, so the only thing I replaced was the seat (ridges towards the carb body).
I put the carb back on the mower and supplied fuel though a clear hose as Slomo suggested and I'm not seeing any leaks (yet). Next I'll hook up the tank and see if the additional pressure from the mass of fuel in the tank causes a leak. Thanks to all for the advice.
