Hi All,

Last week my 10515 started running rough and stalling.
I replaced the coil, new plug, air filter, cleaned the exhaust ports
and cleaned the carb.
This only made things worse, the mower now hesitates, pops and
smokes out of the exhaust. Almost sounds like the timing is off.
The nut on the flywheel is tight so I doubt the flywheel has shifted position.
I'm a bit stumped at the point so would appreciate some pointers
of where to turn next.

Thanks!
John

Just an update, out of frustration I reinstalled the ignition coil I thought had
gone bad, the mower quit running after a few minutes, low and behold after two
pulls the mower ran properly, and continued to run w/o issue.
The 2 new coils, Chinese, purchased from Amazon, were defective.
I'll try a few more replacements but most likely I'll have to go for the expensive
stateside variety.

Your experience with buying parts on FleaBay and AutoScam is a prime example of why the techs on this forum discourage purchasing anything on these sites.

All of the after market parts suppliers wholesale mower coils
All of them have a "find a dealer " feature on their web pages
All of them guarantee that the parts supplied are good
If buying parts from a real shop is against your religion then use Alibaba or Aliexpress
Both of these sites hold onto your money till you reply that the pats arrived in good condition & work so the thieves who buy known defective parts as scrap then sell them on Ebay or Amazon do not use this platform
So simple to do but the American sites prefer to protect criminals rather than the customers .
