Laying Patios

I have read a fair bit about laying patio bricks. I would appreciate verification.

I dig down and lay 2 inches of crushed stone, and 1 1/2 inches of sand, and the measurement of the brick. I lay the brick on that. Should I be putting anything else down under the brick?

Your suggestions would be appreciated.

Sounds like you've done your homework! I think you've got your facts straight. You do want to allow space for whatever kind of edging you plan to use. You'll also want to spread sand to fill any crevices between bricks when you are done.
