I have a Sears Craftsman 6.5 hp push mower. I've had it about 10 years; and recently discovered that it seems to be losing compression. I've changed the spark plug and air filters, without any change in compression. Is the mower dying?

No, probably could use a valve job, I would shop around for a place that could do the job correctly, cut the valve faces and seats, and not
just lap them.
