I need some help with this. I can't find a carb or even a kit that even looks like it fits this engine.

Couple of weird things, i've never seen. There's a vacuum line coming from the fuel tank, that T's off just before the tank, that goes into the top of the carb. And another end goes to the breather.

This carb is cleaned now. Just need a kit for it. Here's a few pics.
The numbers on the carb are 31 8976 3205368.

Good vendor I have used them several years myself until I got my current distributor which is closer delivery time wise and the same or less cost.

I like their listing of delivery options. It's displayed right in front of your face. No searching or guessing. The 1 to 3 day shipping was less than $10.00.

BTW, is that T in the vacuum line OEM? I think it's a good idea to suck fumes from the fuel tank. Especially doubling for a vent. Not sure why they'd need it going into the breather housing since it's already going into the carb.

The T is OEM from Kohler, and there was a bulletin about that T some time back and needed modifications on some engines due to strange dying issue.

It is Kohler Bulletin SB-348

So the defective piece is the plastic cap?

BTW, unlike Partstree, OPE had trouble with my address (their computer couldn't find me). But they called and asked before they did anything. Instead of just emailing me. I'm gonna add them to my list of good distributors. Two minutes after we hung up, I had a tracking number. At it's Saturday night. That's pretty awesome.
