KOHLER KT725 OIL CHANGE ISSUE

Greetings!

My sanity is on the line here (what's left of it).

In the attached photograph you will see the Oil Drain hose. I can not get that top off to save my life. It turns, but apparently is not threaded. It will not pull off, regardless of how many names I call it.

I have hundreds of wrenches and none will allow to get to the block to loosen it there. That said, that Oil drain plug is sealed with Red Loctite.

I changed the Oil last season and I do not recall having these issues. I cannot find a second drain plug. I've watched five YouTube videos and they have a simple yellow extension that pops out. I do not have that.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Look on the other side of the engine. There should be another plug near the starter.

You should be able to get that one out and replace it. The oil filter will need to be removed first to allow better access.

What is the mower model and what is the spec number of the engine. Need the info look into what is going here. I have seen that hose before.

Now on the KT745 there is plug on the oil pan underneath the starter. The KT725 should have the same oil pan. Squared headed that either a 4 pt or 8 socket is used on although a 12 pt may work just depend how tight it is in. Just easier to round off the corners with a 12pt socket. But draining the oil that way is going to be messy as it runs out on the engine deck, tin fold funnel may work somewhat.

The light just went off. I was using a vice grip on the silver collar and attempting to turn the entire black knob. I only need to secure the bottom portion of that knob and turn to small top.

You have no idea how stupid I feel right now, lol.

You mean the bulb wasn't burned out? That sorta like the guy last week that was trying to start his blower to only find out had to turn it the switch on first. They get me too.
