Kohler courage engine blt . 4-30- 05 . Engine starts and run 10 seconds starts and then

engine starts runs 10, 15 seconds then begins flooding and missing and the viberation is very bad . tried new carb , new gas checked flywheel key . Could it be coil trouble ? LEW

Really bad vibrations are caused by, in no particular order ;
1) engine out of time
2) engine missing
3) loose big end or piston
4) loose counterweight

Is this a single or twin cylinder engine. These guys here are pretty darn good but not physic. Number of cylinders would make a difference.

What makes you think it is flooding? is fuel dribbling out of the carb venturi? is it blowing black smoke?

Does it have a separate choke or part of the throttle control? If not separate choke may be hanging and not coming off.

Check the timing by seeing if both valves are closed on the power stroke top dead center using the spark plug hole to determine top dead center. If not, the nylon timing gears for the valves may be stripped. A 2005 engine has a lot of time on it and anything could have happened.
