Considering the OEM carburetor on this motor is a** r***** high I'm looking for a cheaper alternative. I've changed it once using a knockoff carburetor but it's been problems from the start. I'm looking for a good cheaper aftermarket alternative. Can anybody recommend an aftermarket exact replacement carburetor that they have used and had good results with?

I just was having carb issues on my 7000 series, which uses the same carb, and I settled on using the OEM carb's emulsion tube and jet, and putting it in the new amazon carb. I also played with the mixture screw until it ran smooth. Since then, It has been working absolutely perfectly, and now it not only looks like a black Cadillac, but drives like one too! :D
 
What I've found, don't buy the cheapest ad on amazon nor ebay. Get an ad that is say 10-15 bucks more than the cheapest offering. Some reason I've had better luck on these Chinese carbs. Still way cheaper than OEM.

Most of the time my experience has been that cheap Chinese carburetors are plug and play. However, occasionally changing jets or drilling out jets, etc. is necessary to get them to run right. Always try to clean and keep OEM carburetor!
