killing batteries left and right

I have a 52 inch Ferris walk behind mower, I am going through batteries left and right. I have replaced the solenoid,and the voltage regulator, and it just keeps draining every battery I put on it.

You need to check for a wire that is touching the frame that has worn through. Take your time and check every wire.

Don't forget to check your Battery and Starter cables, especially if they pass through a hole in the machine, best to wrap with plastic sleeving (the flex type used in cars) ..

In a dark place pull the battery wire off and see if you get a spark with the ignition turned off.
Some mowers wire the rectifier through the ignition switch which goes short.
