I almost got myself one of those hydration back packs to use while I mow the lawn. With it being the end of the year they are on sale. What does everyone else use to stay hydrated when mowing?

Hydration back packs are pretty good. It is the best hands free way to drink. You can also get one of those beer helments (another fun way to hydrate hands free). I just keep a bottle of water with me though.

Ha haha... Tooo funny...

I do the majority of my mowing inside an air conditioned cab... so hydration is not such a big deal anymore... :smile:KennyV

in extreme heat and humidity, say upwards of 98. I won't carry any water forcing myself inside about every 60-90 minutes and cool down for 15 minutes while drinking. If not, I find I can't stay out as long even with water. I'll wind up with a paralyzing headache and nausea. Can't eat or drink at that point. very unpleasant.
I never took the heat seriously when I was younger until I learned the hard way that it can be quite dangerous. Since then I seem to be more and more sensitive to heat and the problems it can cause. Where I live, I have seen 111 f in the shade this year.
I need to move to Antartica:laughing:

The practice among operators here is to always bring water with them. But --- this is a big but --- they limit drinking to just sipping a little and wetting their mouth. It's why sometimes they just bring candies with them.

If they drink too much water, they'll be forced at some point to relieve themselves and leave the machine in the middle of the grass field. That's a no-no. They drink lots of water one hour before starting, during lunch break, and after the day.
