Kawasaki FC420V-DS00

I have a JD240 lawn tractor with a FC420V-DS00 14HP engine. I need a new carb. All the carbs on line for a FC420V have a fitting and pink tube shown that my carb does not have. I cannot find a replacement carb that does not have this feature. Does anyone know what or where this tube goes and what does it do??

That is a vent. It needs to be there. Carburetors of that era are externally vented.

My current carb is not vented. Will the one shown work on my engine??

As long as it is jetted properly it should work although you might need to change the jets, the throttle and choke shafts out. That is the problem as we don't know what PN you are looking at. All of the FC420C carburetors were jetted different depending the spec number.
