John deere z245 hard start doesn't continue to run

Mower cranks good, but acts like it runs out of gas. Has inline fuel filter full of gas and clear. Is there a sensor somewhere maybe a fuel pump problem??? Does it have fuel pump or just gravity feed? Any odd ball things with carburator?? Thanks
