Does it do this with the blades spinning as well as not? If the engine dies, to me it would not be a "switch" problem, but not getting enough fuel causing the engine to stall out. Unless the pedal switch is somehow causing the engine to die, but you said you replaced them. Could be a wire shorted out someplace near that switch. Safety switches are great till they mess up.
