John Deere 455 weak steering

I have a John Deere 455 and the steering and deck lift are weak at idle (new to me). From what I can see the charge pump suplies the power to both the steering and deck lift. Is there any way to hook a gauge up and check? Any common problems that cause this?

All things on this and every mower are designed to run when engine is at wide open throttle. If you are not running WOT that is the problem. If you have been running them at lower than WOT you are causing early ware to the parts.

WOT stands for .... Watch Out There ! OR Wide Open Throttle ! ...( LOL ) ...:thumbsup:
