JOHN DEERE 118 garden tractor

I Just joined today,& would like to know if someone out there knows about a John Deere 118 garden tractor.I rebuilt the mower deck & when I reinstalled it,the blades turn on automaticlly & thebar that engages the blade which you have to push up noramally won"T push up?is there anything I might have oversighted,I looked it over again & did not see anything.:

Your bar is jammed in on position for blades, take a look and see from what you described.
