My lawn tractor looses it's charge every week. I have to jump start it with my truck. After use it will start back up, but after a week it is dead again. Someone said it might be a Diode in the charging system. Anyone have this problem, and what do i need to fix it. Joe, Email: namcigam77@comcast.net

Have you tried to charge the battery?
Charge it completely, then measure the voltage with the engine running... Post back with what you get.
Could be the rectifier, but could be the battery or the alternator... :smile:KennyV

Kenny's right, due a few checks before replacing parts. It would also disconnect the battery after cutting one time, to see if it is bad. Disconnected for a week, a good battery should not lose a charge.
