Okay who wish this toy mower on me? Just had to be Halloween nightmare.

At least I have the service manual from helping someone on this forum.

A customer brought it in Saturday. It is one if those barn finds that been sitting at least 7 yrs. According to serial it is a 1995 model.

First time I seen a single speed Peerless transaxle used a nightmare setup as everything seems to be under the motor drive wise.

Oh well first got to get the engine running and go from there to even give an estimate. This one is definite getting a charge for doing the estimate. Not even installing inner tubes until I know what else is wrong.

Things must be slow to take in a worthless restoration project.

I bet they bail on you just for the diagnostic and estimate billing. (hope not)

This customer is card. But he has never bailed on project yet. Ever had someone to pay a bill in half dollars? The bill was $320. I just he stop with the women harassment.
He must be as horny as they get. I am happy being single, no one to please other than myself.

Now the mower is not in too bad of a shape. Three tubes, new correct blade, a little welding on the mulch conversion, and a carb rebuild seems to be all is needed. Now of course someone had the RR off and didn't use any grease so that one is on there permanently now; unless, lots of heat is used. Luckily the tube was only leaking thru the valve stem.

I got one of those from a neighbor. She bought it from the state and it came with the JD factory technical manual and receipts for repairs, parts, and maintenance. It sat under her deck for ten years after her son worked on it. The carb was missing. The son confessed that it had caught on fire. Believe it or not, cosmetically the machine was in great shape. Almost no rust and the seat had no rips. The front tires had to be replaced. The rears needed tubes. The huge problem was that it needed new transmission belts. If Dante had worked on one of these things the Divine Comedy would have had an eleventh circle of hell.

Yes it look like a nightmare to do the drive belts the first time around. The engineer that design this probably probably still this is their dreams.
