I have a John Deere 155C riding mower that starts and runs fine. The problem is the lack of speed or power in reverse. Going forward is no problem, the machine runs right along but when you go to back up it goes at a snail’s pace and if there is even a slight incline it won’t climb it. Is there an adjustment I’m missing or other fix for this problem? Thanks in advance.

What I would recommend is having the transaxle oil extracted and replaced. How many hours on machine? What year? This applies to both previous posters. System may have water in it which causes less response. If you can catch it early enough and no internal damage is done, it usually helps.
