Jamie's Christmas Cookies!

Well, it is now the first day of December, so I thought I'd give you a recipe I created yesterday to get you into a Christmas spirit, and make some good cookies!

Ingredients

115G Butter/Margarine
115G Light Brown Sugar
70G Peanut Butter
55G Plain Flour
1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
60G Porridge Oats
60G Frosted Flakes/Corn Flakes


Method

Preheat oven to 350*F/180*C/Gas Mark 4.

1) Cream Butter/Margarine & Sugar together until it forms a light and fluffy consistency.
2) Beat in Peanut Butter.
3) Beat in Egg.
4) Sift over Flour & Ground Cinnamon then stir until combined.
5) Add Oats & Frosted Flakes/Corn Flakes then stir until combined.
6) Taste mixture and add extra sugar if necessary.
7) Refrigerate mixture for a minimum of 30 minutes, preferably a couple of hours.
8) Line a tin with grease proof paper, or if you don't have grease proof paper, smear butter/oil on tin.
9) Take a spoon full of mixture and roll into a ball with the palms of your hands, then flatten to about 1CM and place in tin.
10) Bake for 15 minutes/until golden on top, then remove from oven, and let them cool for 5-10 minutes.
11) Serve & Enjoy!

Ah yes I do remember you replied to one of my threads about baking or something on CountryByNet, though I can't remember what exactly the thread was about or what you said...

Now, where was I again... Oh yeah, after changing the oil remember to check the dipstick a few times before firing it up...

No wait, that ain't it :laughing:

Wow my brain is like a sift today (baking related pun intended). It is always a sift, but more so today for some reason.

Ah yes, pictures, nope, I ate 'em before I could take any :frown: The cookies that is, not the pictures...

Besides, my battery charger has vanished, so my camera is dead for now.

Large deep fry will hold a whole Turkey. :biggrin:

It became popular in this country about 10 years ago. You need anywhere from 3 to 9 gallons of peanut oil heated to 350F, drop the turkey in and let it fry for 15 minutes per lb. Some will rub with spices or inject with seasoning sauces. It's faster and easier than baking and it will not get dry like baked turkey can if not done properly.
It's very tasty, but having done it once, I'm back to oven baked.

There is always someone in every town that drops a frozen turkey in to hot oil or cooks it inside. Sometimes I wonder how they tie there own shoes
