j.d. e120 wont idle down after stick hit choke rod and it got re-adjusted.

my jd e120 rider mower with a b&s 20hp twin had a smaller branch go thru the grill and contact the choke control rod,after it happened,it revved up all the way,so was turned off immediately..just now getting time to look at it,choke rod is back to where it should be,no springs missing,nothing bent or broke as i looked at a brand new identical mower motor at a dealer today and it matches mine..any suggestions?? i am POSSIBLY thinking reset governor control and choke cable settings and try it..open for any/all ideas,thanks.

If it is running wild then the governor is not working so check that both governor springs are there and attached to their correct places .
