the chinese dana-spicer 6800-1 has a chain instead of all gear drive. If mine wasn't leaking right after warranty, I would have never had to change it. The parts for it are obsolete.

BlazNT, thanks for the parts numbers. I will see if i can confirm what I have.

7394, interesting. I would be happy just in solving the sticking in gear situation.

I was looking under my Craftsman LT 1000 and Poulan last night. The pulleys that engage the belts are different. Although I did not actually measure them, the Craftsman pulley is about 3 to 4 inches in diameter and the Poulan is about 2 inches. The bolts in the Poulan pulleys are very loose. I wounder if the guy I got these mowers from swapped the pulleys for some reason. I will have to find a manual for each machine.

Thanks for the link. I will check out the pulleys.

When I go out today, I will get the info for the Poulan.

532138255 part number.

Found your other post with the other model number. "Thread: replacing dana spicer 6800-1 transaxle in 917.288250"
How many transaxle dana spicer are you having problems with?
I am having problems with one transaxle dana spicer, which is on my Craftsman LT 1000.

My apologies for not answering this question yesterday.

BlazNT;Do not have the model number for the Poulan so can not get that info.[/QUOTE said:
The Poulan Model is PTY 175G42. There is another number also, 960 160025 00.

I compared the pulleys on the LT 1000 to the manual parts break down. The LT 1000 pulleys are correct.
