Hi, I'm looking to buy a string trimmer and I found one on craigslist for $50. Its a stihl fs 44.

I don't know how old it is, but looks like a couple of design changes ago, maybe 10-15 years old. If it cranks in 2-5 pulls, has the power you would expect, and the bump n feed works, YES.

I also see that it's straight shaft, easier to,run than a curved. I had a curved shaft version that I bought in 1990, used it for 20 years before carb went out, think it may have been an FS35.

I'D GET IT.
