Is my Murray Select Ride On Lawnmower worth a lot of money?

Hi All,

We purchased a Murray Select ride on lawnmower in the USA in approx 2000/2001 before importing it back to the UK which us where we live now. It has been sitting under dust sheets for the last 15 years or so and is currently not turning over, we believe it needs a new spark plug.
Interestingly I listed it on Facebook Marketplace over the weekend expecting to get some offers of about £300 considering it needs a repair, however I was surprised to see I had about 5 people bidding a lot of money for it, some £5,000, £10,000 and even 3 people in the £20,000 region which I was astounded to see. I didn't want to get carried away as I wasn't sure if it was a scam, but 5 different people offering money into the thousands made me question whether I had a diamond in the rough?

Does anybody know if my model is valuable to collectors? or whether or not it's not worth anything at all? One bidder told me I shouldnt let it go for cheap and the last time he had seen one of these sold was at a German Market for £6,000.

If you can get that kind of money for it jump at the best offer. Trade in value at our shop would be $100 if it ran. I have no idea why you would be getting those type of offers. Just don’t take a check which might bounce.

I call scams.
A mower like that here i would ask less than 400 USD, depending on what was wrong with it... some of those offers you were given translate into anywhere from 6,000 to 25,000 USD....
