Intake Elbow hose

I am working on a Troy Built TB30R riding mower with a Briggs & Stratton engine (21r707 0039 g1). I replaced the carburetor and noticed a red striped hose connected to a nipple on the intake elbow assembly that was going nowhere and not capped. Any idea where this is supposed to go since it has vacuum. Thanks.

If it is a small hose that comes out the end of the elbow most likely that is the emission hose that connects to the either the top of the fuel tank or to a canister that looks like a small black box mounted to the engine that has another hose that connects to the top of the fuel tank.
