I did three separate areas at different ranges and yes even close up and got the same results three times in a row. I am guessing it is St. Augustine Grass and it is the winner. Thank you.Focus in tighter.
I got the same on a wider shot of your picture. Said it was St. Aug as you found.
I want to say thank you for your help first of all. You are awesome! This is what I did I pulled a sample that would fit in the square on the Picture This app and there is a sample picture attached. I then placed the sample in the square and yes, I got a totally different result. It is Japanese Lawngrass aka Zoysia Japonica. So I am now 100% sure this is the culprit. What do you think?Your dominant grass is St Aug right? What turf type do you have?

So is Picture This wrong? I have had so many folks tell me what they think it is and well it turns out to be something different and I have had several Lawn companies try and tell me. I will look at Mondo and Lawngrass. Thank you.Try another weed ID ap.
Look at Google images for Mondo and Lawngrass. See what you think.
Take that sprig you plucked to a plant nursery. Get their opinion.
Could be. It is correct on a lot of common things I've found. Try it on something you know what it is.So is Picture This wrong?
I am new to turf. I know my yard is Fescue hybrid. So St. Augustine is Fescue from what I am reading online. Mondo grass looks like it, but it also looks like Japanese Lawn Grass as well. I am so lost with this.Could be. It is correct on a lot of common things I've found. Try it on something you know what it is.
What sort of Roundup do you use? I know there is the Weed Killer etc, but I do not want to destroy the surrounding grass unless I just use Roundup to kill it and then seed the heck out of it and maybe put sod down. I am in St. Louis, Missouri. So is the Fescue the type of grass such as St. Augustine. I am a newbie. Thank you.I named bent grass because we get it here. One photo of the clumping was revealing. Putting greens on golf courses use it because it is so fine. I use roundup to kill it.
Mondo grass has wide blades and is in the lily family. St Augustine has much larger blades and is very heavy.
