Hi all this is my first post here and I'm trying to figure out which Murray rider this is I picked it up for $25.00 the techumson motor was blowen so I had Briggs and Stratton to put on it but there's no deck belt and the model tag is missing. I am thinking late 90s or early 2000 wide body but not sure. Thanks for any help Jim

You will have to participate a bit, find any numbers you can, like on the throttle/choke cable, look under the hood, look for the numbers off of the transmission, of course the first 2 numbers of the model number are the deck cut/width, so that would be nice as well....

Did the pulley off of the Tecumseh engine fit on the Briggs?

As far as I can tell both pulls are identical you could put them side by side and you could not tell wich one was wich so I used the one that was on the briggs. The tag on the rear end had spicer 4360. 85 01/31/96 with 4B under it. It also had 091865 S.N 002187. The tecumseh I took of was OHV 125 203039B (H) DOM 6053 D. I am guessing with 01-31-96 thatd the date ed code for the rear end so the mower is a 1996. I up loaded some better pics as you can see I had to modify the lower part of the front grill for the briggs muffler but dosnt look to bad. Hope this helps

Well, you know that the model number of your tractor starts with 40, and the last of the model number, after x, like x92a, just indicates which store sold it, and from what little searching I did, the deck belt should be 37x62a. Just go to a few sites and do some searching of their parts lists.
