growing up we had a snapper, I loved it. well our push mower died so we decided to buy a snapper rider like I use to have so I could help with Mowing. Being disabled i can no longer push even a self propelled mower. well during buying this mower I gave it a good once over only to notice once home the intake manifold off of the carb is missing as well as is the air box. My brain injury hasn't gotten better I see now, over looking something like that. We cant afford $199.00 for a used manifold alone while also needing a new air box and filter etc, no one sells them new anymore that i can find.. Is there a universal kit i can buy that would work until we can afford the right parts? something that will mount right to the carb? Is there a cheaper newer manifold that will fit close enough to get us by? please any help would be nice and so greatly appreciated.

I posted a thread that led to three major salvage yards, and a path to find your parts. Because the solution required reading thru to the sites, or making calls, you *****ed at me. No problem, the sites are deleted. Find them own your own.

try places like those in this thread

Hay so I’m new as well but you posted to my thread and you probably won’t get what your after here. You wanna go back to the home page look for the make of your mower and click that( it will be a huge list of every mower manufacturer you can think of) don’t click on any individual thread or post, unless the title states they are doing something like parting out the same mower your after. Instead when you see the long list of other people’s posts go to the top right of all the, there will be button to click to add a thread for your topic in your mowers groups. You ended up in the snapper specific forum section under my new post. You wanna post under the grasshopper forums. I Hope that helps. Good luck finding what you are looking for.

Just wanted to simplify it better click home then brands then click grasshopper then click the new post button on the top right.

Yes Briggs has stop sell the parts new.

Boy are sites ripping people off over a new old stock parts or used parts. The air cleaner base sold back in 2024 for $25.60 suggested retail.

Probably the local shops have mower graveyards that the parts maybe still in.

What I do when looking for used parts or even new.

Find the part numbers of the parts needed or the correct description and go to Flea Bay and search. If none seen do a saved search and this will get you a email notice when match TO WHAT YOU INQUIRED ABOUT IS POSTED.
If you will post the model, type and code of your engine, someone on this site might have such or give you some better hints????????????
So you bought the mower without seeing it operate???

No it started on the first pull and runs like a champ. When I was looking at it and thought a saw the air box but it must of been a loose cover or something. When I got it home and started getting all the details for the mower and engine while cleaning it, I noticed I was now looking directly at the butterfly of the carb it’s self. I was up all night trying to figure this out cause according to what I was seeing come up in google wasn’t right either. The carb had a long tube that bent up to attach the air box to. So I thought it was and air horn or air box adapter that was missing off the carb and I thought the air intake manifold was the part. I see now that attaches to the cylinder then to the carb. It a newer plastic air box that attaches to the carb directly that I’m missing. I did find and buy the only one I found on eBay for 25 bucks. Now I’m off to Menards to not pay 12 dollars a nut to attach it when it comes. I’m gonna remove this post and will make a new one if I struggle with anything else now that I have all the right part diagrams for motor and mower.

Yeah it’s crazy for some of the parts out here. I will try and find some local shops with gravel yards. Thanks for the tip
