I have a craftsman p2 weed wacker rope question

on my craftsman 6 year old p2 the rope has too much slack and i can't figure out how to get it tighter. It has some sort of pivot the rope goes around before going on the reel. I have it all apart except for taking the rope off.. I can figure out how to make the spring tension a little thighter the rope hangs out about 2 feet or point me to a video
anyone ?

If it has the rope between the shaft & the engine you usually need to remove it completely then wind it up with a special tool that allows yo to insert the fully wound spring back into the unit ( some times ):confused2:
