I use the dedicated low temperature mower & tractor tyre plugs depending upon what size the hole is and how many.
I have one customer ( now dead ) with better than 30 plugs in both rears , yes 4 Boganvillias in the front yard & a double row of African thorn trees in the back .
Tyre goop is water soluable so eventually will fail
On top of that if there is any imperfection in the paint on the rim it will lift the paint and rust the rims to the point that a tyre bead can no longer seal.
