Hustler fast trac model #927343 fuel problems

My old hustler is giving me fits, repaired electiical problems, now it will not pick up fuel. Pickup tube and filter are good, what controls the fuel flow from tank to engine??
 
Pull the fuel pump discharge outlet - to carb- crank it over and watch for fuel - it should be coming out of that line with each revolution - if not , the fuel pump has a bad diaphram or check valve they're not too expensive and go out every so often
 
Even fuel line can have liners that come loose and collapse blocking fuel flow. Just repaired a S180 that had that very problem.
 
There is a solenoid on the carb bowl, has 2 wires one red one green. The green one is broke, does it plug into the solenoid on the carb bowl.
