I borrowed a Husky model Z4218 Zero Turn Radius riding mower from a friend. He delivered it to my house and is now out of town. I installed new spindles and sharpened the blades. Now I want to use the machine and -- to my embarrassment -- cannot operate it.
With the parking brake set and the two motion control levers in the "pushed out" position the engine cranks eagerly and starts almost immediately. It runs with a normal sound. As soon as the motion control levers are moved toward each other, as required to move the machine forward or backward, the engine quits. It quits "clean" as if some safety interlock killed the ignition.
If the motion control levers are moved back into the "pushed out" positions the engine can be restarted immediately.
Please advise.
