With lawn tractor running, with or without blade engaged, the forward and reverse pedals seem stuck and will not move until I press several times on the clutch/brake pedal, alternating pressing on clutch and then forward or reverse pedal, until they finally release and engage--lurching either forward or reverse. Once engaged and moving forward or reverse, tractor continues moving at slow speed in the direction it is going even though I take my foot off the pedal. The only way to stop the forward or reverse motion is to press on the clutch/brake or to press hard on the forward or reverse pedal and allow to pop up. When engine is not running the forward and reverse pedals move freely. I've thoroughly blown-out all dirt where pedal forward-reverse linkage connects to the transmission and sprayed thoroughly with WD40, but the problem persists. Tractor was running great a week ago and this problem started while I was cutting our lawn. Thank you for any help offered.

I have seen this also on a couple of Husqvarna riding mowers and wondered if anyone had a solution. Look at transaxle in the rear and see if it
has a black plastic case, this is the General brand. It is cheap, often leaks from seals on axel, and has problems releasing the bypass when needed to move and not running.

Thank you, so much. Is this on the axel, itself? Any help locating this is appreciated. I'm contacting Husqvarna to see it they have a diagram or part #. Gary

Here is the diagram Husqvarna customer support sent me. I am wondering if the General brand box you mention shows up here:

Yes you have the General Transmissions RS800P CVT transaxle (Item #1). Plastic parts due wear out and needs replacing as to which ones a tech familiar unit would need to determine that.

The hard to get into neutral for pushing around is usually an inversion rod adjustment as the unit is not fully in the neutral position for motion drive.

There is a black plastic case where the linkage from the forward/reverse linkage meets the transaxle. Are the plastic parts you mention inside of this black plastic case or in the transaxle itself? The case I am seeing at the end of the linkage seems like it might be replaceable. I agree about what you are saying about a "tech," though, if the worn parts are inside the transaxle. That would be a bear to work on.
Thank you, again, for your help. It's a good mower, otherwise, and the engine and deck are great! I replaced the mandrals with ones with zerk fittings and they are much better, greased, than the originals that came with the mower.
Any idea if you think this repair on the linkage or transaxle would be cost-effective? My wife is asking for a mower with power steering. LOL. I am still able to use this mower by working the clutch, but she won't touch it!
Thanks, again.
